September 2, 2014- 3 Phase Mentoring (ages 12-20), after school program that utilizes sports and other activities to connect with the youth, improve academics, and behavior in school. Our after school program will be governed by teen mentors, and guided by adult mentors (Military personnel, college students, community leaders and volunteers). Our program meets at Great Mills High School, on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:30 pm - 9:00pm. All mentors must complete a background check and complete a training conducted by the school. Curriculum will be provided by Jeff Burrell. Sponsorship for snacks is needed. We serve up to 80+ students per night.
December 2014- Hoop 4 the Homeless - Teen Basketball Tournament to raise homelessness awareness. The event will give our youth/teens a chance to help to the homeless with clothes, blankets, and shoes. We will start accepting donation September 1, 2014. Please email Basketball4LYFE247@gmail.com
March 7, 2015 – 4th Annual Education First “Rise to the Challenge”- A weekend basketball showcase/ college fair held at Great Mills High school highlighting the basketball talent of teens and young adults, while educating them on post high school options. At the event, there will be information tables for families, military recruiters, college recruiters, and financial aid tables where students can learn about grants and scholarships. We anticipate 300 people at the event. Community partners are welcome to set up information booths at the event. Send your request by emailing Jeff Burrell at email@example.com.
Summer of 2015 - Family vs. Cancer – ages 18 & up- In Honor of Shirley Burrell, Nicole Johnson, Mickey Rice and Will Smith - A 10 week men’s basketball league that will have several partners set up each week to hand out information, set up tables for presentations and videos to educate the community on prevention and treatments for Cancer. Each team will be responsible for sending a representative (player) to speak to students at our after school program on the importance of cancer awareness and prevention.
Grind Time wins 14th Championship
To top off a great year, Grind Time won the Championship at the Kennedy League in Washington D.C., after claiming the title in Charles County earlier in the year.

Demetrius Barnes hit buzzer beater in regulation to send us into over time. Cameron Smith hits a buzzer beaters as time expired in over time to give Southern Bulls their second win of the weekend. Southern Bulls went 2-1 at the Temple Hill's Round Robin
